Welcome to the Baildon Golf Club Rabbits Section

The Rabbits Section is open to all male members aged 18+ with a handicap of 16-28 and is traditionally one of the best supported sections within the club. 

The Baildon Golf Club Rabbits Section is a member of both the Bradford & District Rabbits Golf (BDRGA) and the Yorkshire Rabbits Golf Association (YRGA). After a successful league campaign in 2009 we are looking forward to defending the BDRGA Division A title in 2010. The league season tees off on April 29th at home to Clayton and any member interested in representing the club should let the Rabbits Captain know on enrolment night.

The section also participate in a number of Team Events at both BDRGA and YRGA level throughout the year and once again if you are interested in participating let the Rabbits Captain know at enrolment night.

Your Rabbits Vice Captain will organise the Rabbits Friendly Fixtures throughout the year and will be looking for 8 full members of the Rabbits Sections to participate in these. Typically tee off for Rabbits friendlies are between 17:00 - 17:30 on a Thursday evening. After the golf both teams relax in the club house before enjoying a sit down evening meal together.

Whether you are a long time member of the Rabbits Section or new to the club / section the Rabbits friendlies are a great social evening and will allow you to meet and play golf with new playing partners in a friendly (and sometimes very competitive environment).

Rabbits Section Competitions

The Rabbits section run a number of competitions throughout the year including singles and foursome match play trophies and a variety of medal, stableford and bogey competitions which coincide with the clubs Saturday competitions. During the golfing season any member of the Baildon Rabbits section that plays in the clubs Saturday competition will also qualify for the Accumulation Cup.

Starting on the first Saturday competition of the golfing season (Saturday 3rd April 2010) the Accumulation cup is awarded to the best performing Rabbit of the year. Every week after the release of the competition results by the club, the top 5 Rabbits for the week will be awarded points (1st = 10pts, 2nd = 8pts, 3rd = 6pts, 4th = 4pts and 5th = 2pts) which over the year are accumulated until a winner is announced after the last Saturday competition of the golfing season (Saturday 9th October 2010).

Weekly results from the club competitions and updates on  the accumulation cup will be posted on the Rabbits Noticeboard on this website.

As well as running the various Rabbits competitions the Section also organise an annual trip, this year to the Mid Yorkshire Golf Club, and the annual club invitation day which this year will take place on the 12th June. Further details of these events will be listed on this website over the coming weeks.
